One app to track books, movies, TV and games
One library for books, films, TV and games, on the same lists, the same calendar and the same Rewind. Clubs and buddy reads work on all of it, which is the part a tidy backlog app does not do.
All four, together
One library, genuinely
Books, films, TV and games each get their own tab, library, calendar, streak and analytics, and they share one set of lists. A single list can hold a novel, a film, a season and a game, so "things to get through this winter" is one list rather than four.
Rewind counts every medium together, so "what did I actually finish this year" has one answer.
One library
The part nobody else has
Clubs and buddy reads on all media, with nomination, voting, and discussion gated by where each person is. Every other cross-media tracker competes on library mechanics: statuses, backlog boards, stats and imports. None of them has a community layer.
If you want a tidy backlog, several apps will do. If you want to read or watch something with other people and then argue about it, this is the one.
Bringing things with you
Goodreads, StoryGraph, Letterboxd, TV Time and Kindle import from files. Trakt and Steam connect as accounts. All of it is free.
What it costs
Tracking books, films, TV and games is free, along with lists, search, clubs, buddy reads, imports and the annual Rewind. Premium is $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year and adds deeper analytics, the monthly Rewind, custom themes and supporter perks.
Questions
- Is there a free tier?
- Yes, and tracking all media is part of it, not the paid part.
- Does it work on desktop and on a phone?
- Yes. Voluta is a web app first, so it runs in any browser on any device, and it installs to the home screen as a Progressive Web App on both Android and iOS. There is also a Voluta app on the iOS App Store.
- What is not covered?
- Music and podcasts. Four media, done properly, rather than seven done thinly.
